  11. Use a housing wrench or by hand to screw the housing back into place by turning it from left to right (Don’t lay down the unit on its side while screw it in, the unit should be standing upright to prevent the O-ring from slipping).
  12. Repeat the above steps for other filters.
  13. After all housings are tight, turn on the water supply and storage tank valve.
  14. Observe for any leaks, if there is a leak, tighten the housing or re-aligning the O-ring.
  15. If you are changing the in-line carbon filter or membrane, you must drain the first tank of water after restarting the system.

Changing In-line GAC Filter

Replacing in-line GAC filter, the flow direction is indicated on the filter and should be the same direction as the old filter.  Our inline Replacement Filters have John Guest Quick-Connect Fittings. and the following is the procedure for disconnecting and connecting them:

Step 1: To Disconnect, push in collete (gripper) (which looks like a ring from outside) squarely against the face of fitting.  With the collete held in this position, simultaneously pull the tube out.

Step 2: To connect, Push the tube into the fitting, all the way in to the tube stop, the collete (gripper) will hold the tube in position. Pull the tube lightly to check it is secure in position.  If it happens that it leaks, most probably you haven't pushed it all the way in, just push it further until it stops.

Changing TFC Membrane

  1. Follow "Change Filters Procedures" above steps1 to 4.
  2. Free the membrane from the clips.
  3. Remove the tube at membrane inlet as described above with the John Guest fittings. (The inlet side of the membrane housing is the side with the membrane housing cap).
  4. Unscrew the membrane vessel cap off (counter-clockwise).
  5. Use pliers to pull the membrane out of the membrane vessel, and discard the used membrane.
  6. Rub the two "O" rings, and the large rubber ring around the membrane with some silicone base lubricant that is FDA approved, (you can find it at local hardware stores).
  7. Insert the new membrane into the membrane vessel (THE SIDE WITH DOUBLE-BLACK O-RING SHOULD GO IN FIRST).
  8. Push the membrane all the way in.
  9. Screw the membrane housing cap back (clockwise).
  10. Connect the tubing to its elbow fitting by pushing it all the way in.
  11. Turn on the water supply and tank valve to restart the system.
  12. Observe for leaks, if there is a leak, tighten the cap.
  13. Wait 2 to 3 hours for the tank to be filled then you must drain the first tank of water by opening up the faucet to flush the system.
