Whole House Filters connect to the main water pipe entering a house, and they are divided into three groups:

• Whole House Carbon Filters, and Whole House Carbon w/ #KDF85 Filters, Filter media is backwashed, and lasts for about 5 years, based on use
  
• Whole House Multi Media Filters, using throwaway filter cartridges that are replaced yearly
  
• Whole House Water Softeners (to mitigate water hardness), back washed based on usage
